Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Housekeeper to join our opening team and ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, comfort, and hospitality at our boutique historic property in Carthage, TN. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a pristine environment, delivering exceptional hospitality and creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere for our guests.
Duties & Responsibilities
· Respond promptly to requests from guests and other departments.
· Fill cart with supplies and transport cart to assigned area. Enter guest rooms following procedures for gaining access and ensuring vacancy before entering.
· Replace guest amenities and supplies in rooms.
· Replace dirty linens and terry with clean items.
· Make beds and fold terry.
· Clean bathrooms.
· Remove trash, dirty linen and used dishes.
· Check that all appliances are present in the room and in working order.
· Straighten desk items and furniture appropriately.
· Dust, polish, and remove marks from all walls, surfaces and furnishings.
· Vacuum carpets and perform floor care duties (e.g., in guest rooms and hallway).
· Follow all hotel safety and security policies and procedures.
· Report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete necessary safety training and certifications; properly store flammable materials in designated areas.
· Collect any Lost & Found items recovered from vacant guest rooms and promptly turn in to Manager/Supervisor.
· Provide the highest levels of hospitality and service to all guests at all times.
· Be punctual to all shifts; call and speak to direct Manager/Supervisor for any instance of tardiness or absence from scheduled shift.
· Maintain a professional appearance; wear company-approved uniform to each shift.
· Push and pull a loaded housekeeping cart and other work-related equipment over sloping and uneven surfaces; reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
· Move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance and exceeding 25 pounds with assistance.
· Stand, sit, kneel, or walk for an extended period across an entire work shift. Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and close attention to detail.
· Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Management/Supervisors.
Requirements
- Proven experience in cleaning, custodial work, hotel housekeeping or commercial cleaning environments
- Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, floor care, sanitation procedures, and laundry operations
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing for extended periods, bending, lifting heavy objects, and reaching high areas
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of cleanliness
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
