Scope of Position
The Shuttle Bus Supervisor is responsible for ensuring an efficient and effective flow of business operations including exceptional customer satisfaction.
The Shuttle Bus Supervisor position supervises and directs operational activities during a particular shift. The Shuttle Bus Supervisor must be able to communicate with employees working directly for them. Also,
Shuttle Bus Supervisors must be able to hold employees accountable for their daily responsibilities. Further, the Shuttle Bus Supervisor must be able to know and train employees in the area of safety including proper driving methods and proper working methods.
In addition to operational duties, the Shuttle Bus Supervisor also answers routine questions from employees and customers, assembles highly confidential and sensitive information, deals with a diverse group of important external callers and visitors as well as internal contacts at all levels of the organization.
Independent judgement is required to plan, prioritize, and organize diversified workload. Work hours may vary depending on the needs of the operation and can include days, evenings, weekends and occasional overnight.
Overnight work may be dominant if that is the shift hired to work. Shuttle Bus Supervisors are not permitted to be employed with any other company without the express approval of the location’s Site Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The basic function of the Shuttle Bus Supervisor position is to assist in the day-to-day management of a shuttle operation ensuring that operations are handled within contractual guidelines of the specific location, adhering to company policies and procedures, fostering good client relations and promoting a professional image and approach to the business.
To successfully perform in the position, the individual must
- Participate in programs to improve client and customer satisfaction.
- Assist in the management of day-to-day activities of the assigned locations
- Assist with management duties as assigned
- Courteously assist customers
- Report any known accidents, observed or suspected violations of Company policy, safety hazards or any unusual occurrence to the Facility Manager
- Assist with cleanup of debris, water, oil spills and etc. Substitute for any position, if necessary
- Have a thorough knowledge of all areas of the shuttle operation, transportation route, major streets, landmarks and freeways in the area of the garage
- Complete other duties as needed
Starting Hourly Rate of Pay
The starting rate of pay for the Shuttle Bus Supervisor position is $24.00 hourly.
Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that an individual encounters while performing the essential duties and responsibilities of the Shuttle Bus Supervisor position.
· The position is located at an airport terminal where the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
· The main responsibilities of the position are conducted in an office setting where the temperatures are controlled
· Driving is conducted outside on a shuttle bus outside where the temperatures are diverse (hot and cold) and the weather is adverse (rainy)
Position Status and Availability
The individual selected for the Shuttle Bus Supervisor position must be available to work a full-time, 10:00p - 6:00a Overnight shift including weekends and holidays.
Position Requirements
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required for an individual to successfully perform the Shuttle Bus Supervisor position:
· Strong customer service skills
· Ability to push, pull and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds
· Ability to comply with company’s policies and procedures
· Ability to speak clearly, write legibly, perform basic calculations and work well other employees
· Willingness to work outside in extreme weather conditions (cold, hot, rainy)
· Consistently arrive at work and on time; ensure work responsibilities are covered when absent; arrive at meetings and appointments on time
· Ability to effectively communicate in English (speak, read, write) with customers, co-workers and management to their understanding
Licenses and Certifications
Per DOT Regulations, the individual selected for the Shuttle Bus Supervisor position will be required to have and maintain a valid CDL Class A or B Driver’s License with Passenger and Air Brakes Endorsements for operating shuttle buses with a passenger capacity of 15 passengers or more.
DOT Medical Card
The individual selected for the Shuttle Bus Supervisor position must possess a valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT Medical Card) issued by a certified medical examiner and will be required to renew the medical card prior to the expiration date listed on the card.
Training Courses
The individual selected for the Shuttle Bus Supervisor position must possess computer knowledge to ensure completion of online training courses in a timely manner.

The specific vision abilities requirements to successfully perform the Shuttle Bus Supervisor position include close vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.
Education Requirements
The individual selected for the Shuttle Bus Supervisor position must possess:
· A High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
· At least one (1) year of customer service and one (1) year of supervisory experience
· At least two (2) years of passenger driving experience preferred
· A valid CDL Class A, B or C with Passenger and Air Brakes Endorsements
· Prior CDL training or an equivalent combination of education and experience
