Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Equipment Operator with a valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating a variety of heavy machinery and construction equipment to support excavation, grading, utility work, and site development projects. Your expertise will help ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality construction operations while adhering to all safety regulations and industry standards. Duties
- Operate heavy construction machinery including excavators, loaders, water trucks, and Caterpillar equipment to perform excavation, grading, and utility installation tasks.
- Conduct routine maintenance and safety inspections on all equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety procedures.
- Assist with construction utility locating to accurately identify underground utilities before excavation begins.
- Follow federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures diligently during all operations.
- Support construction site activities by performing general utility work, including trenching, backfilling, and site cleanup.
- Maintain detailed records of equipment usage, maintenance logs, and safety checks for accountability and compliance purposes.
- Collaborate with team members to execute project plans efficiently while maintaining a safe working environment.
Requirements
- Valid CDL license with a clean driving record; experience with commercial truck driving preferred.
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, water trucks, and other construction machinery.
- Strong mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and performing basic maintenance on equipment.
- Construction site experience with familiarity in excavation, grading, utility installation, and general construction practices.
- Knowledge of federal construction safety regulations and adherence to all safety regulations at all times.
- Ability to locate underground utilities accurately using specialized tools and techniques.
- Excellent understanding of equipment safety procedures and heavy equipment operation standards.
- Physical ability to perform demanding tasks including lifting heavy materials, standing for long periods, and working in outdoor environments in various weather conditions.
