We are seeking an experienced Structural Designer to join our team and contribute to the design and development of structural projects from concept through construction.
Position Summary
The Structural Designer is responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and construction plans for a variety of structural projects. This role works closely with engineers to transform engineering concepts into accurate, buildable construction documents. The ideal candidate possesses strong AutoCAD and Revit skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a commitment to quality.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed structural drawings and construction documents using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Create plans for foundations, buildings, and structural systems based on engineering designs and specifications.
- Review design documents to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with project requirements.
- Coordinate design updates and revisions with engineers and project teams.
- Visit project sites to collect field measurements and information needed for design development.
- Assist with material quantity calculations and project documentation.
- Support the preparation of project-related documents, estimates, and deliverables.
- Identify and resolve design challenges through collaboration with engineers and project stakeholders.
- Maintain organized project records and drawing files.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Drafting, Design Technology, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of structural design and drafting experience.
- Minimum 5 years of Revit experience (required).
- Proficiency with AutoCAD.
- Experience developing construction documents for structural projects.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and design standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with structural analysis software such as SAP2000 or similar.
- Experience using MS Project or similar project management software.
- Programming or design automation experience.
- Experience working with structural engineering firms.
