We're looking for a self-motivated, highly organized, and detail-driven professional who takes ownership of the company's books and keeps leadership consistently and proactively informed.
The ideal candidate will provide strong, reliable support to company operations — managing payroll, accounts, budgets, and reporting with accuracy and discretion — while streamlining office functions, nurturing a positive work environment, and serving as a friendly, dependable point of contact for customers, employees, vendors, and visitors of this historic property and place of business. This position is performed on-site during regular business hours.
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain core office and accounting functions, including payroll, monthly bank reconciliations, stock transfers, and the accurate, timely management of A/P and A/R
- Maintain and monitor accurate financial records, including budgets and account balances, and keep management informed through regular, timely reporting
- Manage day-to-day financial transactions in coordination with management, ensuring payments and reporting are accurate, well-documented, and on schedule
- Serve as the point of contact with the company's outside accountants for tax filings, year-end close, and other financial reporting
- Oversee day-to-day office activities and serve as the main point of contact in the reception area
- Prepare and help lead monthly budget meetings with the Farm Manager and General Manager
- Provide administrative support: scheduling, filing systems, mailing and shipping, and contact management
- Oversee office equipment and supplies, and order supplies for field operations as needed
- Participate in weekly and quarterly strategic planning
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Previous success in office management
- Strong bookkeeping/accounting background (payroll, A/P, A/R, reconciliations; QuickBooks or similar)
- Experience managing budgets and monitoring cash flow
- Ability to handle confidential information and willingness to sign a confidentiality agreement
- Availability on-site during regular business hours
Pay & Benefits
- $25–$30 per hour, depending on experience
- Flexible daytime schedule within regular business hours
- Part-time (20–30 hrs/week) with strong potential to grow into full-time
- Full-time employees receive a retirement plan with company match, health insurance, and paid time off
