Altamaha Health Center is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and patient-focused Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our growing in-house subacute rehabilitation team. Working under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist, you will help residents recover from illness, injury, surgery, and hospitalization while maximizing their independence and quality of life.

Provide physical therapy treatments and interventions under the supervision of the Physical Therapist

Assist residents in improving mobility, strength, balance, endurance, and functional independence
-
Document treatments, resident responses, progress, and outcomes accurately and timely in accordance with facility and regulatory standards

Monitor resident status and communicate changes to the supervising Physical Therapist and interdisciplinary care team
-
Educate residents and families on therapeutic exercises, mobility techniques, fall prevention, and safety strategies
-
Collaborate with nursing, therapy, and medical staff to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care
-
Maintain compliance with state, federal, and facility policies, procedures, and documentation standards
-
Foster a positive, compassionate, and collaborative rehabilitation environment
-
Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program
-
Current Georgia Physical Therapist Assistant license in good standing
-
CPR certification preferred
-
Experience in skilled nursing, subacute rehabilitation, inpatient rehabilitation, or long-term care is preferred but new graduates are encouraged to apply

Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team
