Job Summary
The Assistant Manager is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the powder coating facility by ensuring production goals, quality standards, safety requirements, and customer expectations are consistently met. This role assists in supervising production personnel, coordinating workflow, maintaining equipment, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The Assistant Manager works closely with the Plant Manager to maximize efficiency while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the powder coating production facility.
- Supervise and support production employees, providing coaching, training, and performance feedback.
- Monitor production schedules to ensure customer deadlines and quality standards are achieved.
- Ensure proper pretreatment, powder application, curing, and final inspection processes are followed.
- Maintain compliance with company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and environmental standards.
- Conduct regular quality inspections and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Troubleshoot production issues and assist in resolving equipment or process-related problems.
- Monitor inventory levels of powders, chemicals, packaging materials, and production supplies.
- Assist with preventive maintenance scheduling and coordinate equipment repairs.
- Maintain accurate production records, quality documentation, and performance reports.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts focused on efficiency, waste reduction, and process optimization.
- Serve as acting manager during the absence of the Plant Manager.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or technical certification preferred.
- 1–2 years of manufacturing experience.
- Experience in powder coating, industrial painting, metal finishing, or a related manufacturing environment preferred but not necessary.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced production environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, dust, and industrial equipment.
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Reports To: Operations Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, with occasional overtime or weekend work as required by production demands.
Pay: $18.00 - $27.00 per hour
