Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Part Time Caregiver to join our team and provide exceptional support to an elderly client in need of assistance with daily activities. Coverage is needed seven days a week, with shifts from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM. This is an active role that requires ongoing engagement throughout each shift and is not a passive or “sitting” position. The ideal candidate is proactive, attentive, and comfortable managing both caregiving responsibilities and maintaining the overall household.
Responsibilities
Provide attentive companionship and remain actively engaged with the client throughout the shift. Assist with daily routines while monitoring the client’s condition, safety, and overall well-being. Prepare meals and support proper nutrition. Perform a full range of household duties including cleaning, laundry, organizing, and maintaining a consistently clean and orderly environment. Assist with general household upkeep as needed to ensure the home remains well-maintained. Run errands such as grocery shopping and prescription pickups. Provide reliable transportation to medical appointments and other engagements. Communicate regularly with family members and promptly report any changes in the client’s condition or needs.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living, home health, hospice care, or group home settings is highly desirable
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is preferred
- Certification in CPR and First Aid and additional certifications such as HIPAA training are a plus
- Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record are required.
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the shift
- Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and recognizing changes in health status
- Excellent communication skills for working effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals
