Day Service Employment Support Professional
About the Role
We are seeking a dependable and compassionate Day Service Employment Support Professional to help individuals identify, obtain, and maintain meaningful paid employment. This role supports people in building job readiness skills, exploring career interests, connecting with employers, and succeeding in the workplace.
What You’ll Do
· Support individuals in identifying employment interests, strengths, skills, goals, preferred schedules, transportation needs, and workplace supports.
· Assist with career exploration, job readiness, résumés, applications, interview practice, professional communication, and workplace expectations.
· Arrange and support job shadows, informational interviews, workplace tours, assessments, interviews, and job trials.
· Build relationships with local businesses and employers to develop inclusive employment opportunities.
· Provide job coaching and ongoing support to help individuals succeed and maintain employment.
· Communicate progress, barriers, and updates with the employment team, families, employers, and outside agencies as appropriate.
· Maintain accurate documentation, employer contact records, assessment reports, and follow-up activities.
· Follow all agency policies, safety procedures, employment-service requirements, and person-specific support plans.
Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or associate degree preferred.
· Experience in job development, job coaching, sales, business, community support, or related work preferred.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to build professional relationships with employers and community partners.
· Strong organization, time management, initiative, and problem-solving skills.
· Basic computer skills, including email and electronic documentation systems.
· Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to meet agency driving requirements.
· Ability to complete required background checks, training, and certifications.
Additional Requirements
· Safe, reliable, registered, and insured vehicle available for business use.
· Dependable attendance and punctuality.
· Ability to work independently in community-based settings.
· Availability to work evenings or weekends when needed to support an individual’s employment schedule.
· Must complete Certified Employment Support Professional training within 2 years.
