We are looking for an experienced Medical Billing Specialist to join our team!
We are looking for a qualified, responsible, and self-motivated individual to fill a full-time Medical Billing Specialist position in our South Amboy location.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Verifying insurance coverage and estimating patient responsibility and communicating patient responsibility with patients prior to service.
- Gather required documentation, code and submit claims for surgical procedure to appropriate third party payers for reimbursement.
- Schedules procedures for patients with appropriate provider and time/location slot
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, visitors, physicians and coworkers.
- Posting payments and then taking the appropriate follow-up steps to secure proper payments.
- Accounts Receivable management, identifying trends and advising appropriate parties of these trends, actively participate in resolution of the identified issues.
- Assists other members of the department as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Experience
- Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in medical billing and collections
- Certified Medical Coder
- Experience with ambulatory surgery centers is preferred
- Professional attitude
- Attention to detail
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Ability to occasionally float to our other centers in Neptune, Freehold, and Edison on an as needed basis.
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
