Position Summary
Katie's Way is seeking a compassionate, collaborative, and patient-focused Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) to join our growing team in El Paso, Texas.
The ideal candidate is passionate about improving access to quality mental health care and thrives in a team-based environment. This provider will work closely with technicians, practice leadership, regional leadership, and collaborating psychiatrists to deliver exceptional patient care.
Preference will be given to candidates who are already credentialed with TRICARE or are actively in the credentialing process with a clearly defined timeline to independent billing.
Essential Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and ongoing medication management visits.
- Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs.
- Prescribe, direct, or administer psychiatric treatments and medications within the scope of practice.
- Evaluate patients for Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and provide oversight of TMS treatment as appropriate.
- Gather and maintain accurate patient information, including medical and psychosocial histories.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, TMS staff, and other healthcare professionals regarding treatment planning and patient progress.
- Analyze patient data and clinical findings to diagnose and treat mental health conditions.
- Provide brief supportive psychotherapy and counseling during office visits when clinically appropriate.
- Educate patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and ongoing care needs.
- Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation.
- Participate in team meetings, quality initiatives, and occasional community outreach events as needed.
- Comply with all organizational policies, HIPAA requirements, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
- Complete other duties as assigned within scope of licensure and training.
Qualifications Required:
- Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Current PMHNP-BC certification.
- Active and unrestricted Texas APRN license (or ability to obtain prior to start date).
- Eligibility to establish a collaborative practice relationship as required by Texas law and Katie's Way policies.
- DEA registration and prescriptive authority, or ability to obtain prior to start.
- Strong knowledge of current psychiatric treatment modalities and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred:
- Experience working with military populations, veterans, or TRICARE beneficiaries.
- Previous experience with TMS or interest in learning TMS treatment protocols.
- Currently credentialed with TRICARE.
- Candidates actively undergoing TRICARE credentialing with an established timeline to independent billing.
