American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a night shift Med/Surg position in an Acute Observation unit, requiring at least 1 year of experience and Epic EMR proficiency.

Acute Observation unit within a hospital setting

Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
-
13-week contract
-
Patient ratio of 1:5-6

Uses Epic EMR
-
Weekend requirement: 2–4 shifts per month on a rotating basis
-
On-call is not required but may be requested if census increases

Floating required to all Med/Surg departments within the unit's service area
-
Active RN license in New Mexico or a compact state
-
Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
-
Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg or related nursing experience
-
BSN preferred
-
Epic EMR experience
-
Provides nursing care using the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation

Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness

Addresses psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
-
Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided

Assesses patient and family learning needs and provides appropriate education

Grey scrubs required

Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates

Travelers who have previously worked at any CHRISTUS Health facility in a non-travel capacity must have been separated for at least 6 months before being considered for a travel assignment — this applies across the entire CHRISTUS Health System
