Service Manager (Heavy Truck Maintenance & Repair)

A well-established and growing service organization in the heavy-duty vehicle industry is seeking an experienced Service Manager to lead operations at its Denver-area facility. This is a confidential search for a key leadership role focused on driving operational excellence, team performance, and customer satisfaction.
Position Overview
The Service Manager will oversee all aspects of the service department, including technician productivity, workflow management, customer communication, and financial performance. This role requires a hands-on leader with strong technical knowledge of heavy truck maintenance and repair, combined with proven management experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage day-to-day service department operations
- Supervise, coach, and develop a team of technicians and support staff
- Drive efficiency, productivity, and quality of repairs
- Oversee scheduling, work order flow, and shop capacity planning
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through clear communication and timely service delivery
- Manage departmental financials, including labor sales, margins, and expense control
- Maintain compliance with safety standards and company policies
- Collaborate with parts and administrative teams to streamline operations
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in heavy-duty truck repair and maintenance
- 3+ years in a supervisory or management role within a service environment
- Strong leadership and team-building skills
- Solid understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostics
- Experience with service management software and shop operations systems
- Proven ability to manage KPIs, budgets, and operational performance
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
