Job Title: Level II/III CNC Machinist
Description
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team. This position is responsible for setting up and operating CNC mills and/or lathes to produce precision components for a wide variety of customer applications. As a job shop, our work is characterized by low-volume, high-mix production, where no two days are the same. Success in this role requires the ability to efficiently transition from one project to the next, solve machining challenges, and confidently take a part from print to finished component. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and motivated to continually expand their machining knowledge and skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret engineering drawings and manufacture parts to specification
- Set up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes using existing CNC programs
- Perform tool changes, offset adjustments, and basic program edits as needed
- Select and install tooling and workholding for assigned jobs
- Determine and apply appropriate speeds, feeds, and cutting parameters
- Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments
- Troubleshoot machining and setup issues to maintain quality and productivity
- Assist with process improvements and programming as experience permits
- Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment
- Lift up to 40 lbs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Required Skills
- 5 years of CNC machining experience
- Experience setting up and operating CNC mills and/or lathes
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and understand basic GD&T
- Ability to make CNC program edits at the machine, including offsets, tool compensation, feeds, speeds, and simple code modifications
- Familiarity with precision measuring equipment
- Basic understanding of tooling, workholding, and machining practices
- Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience creating CNC programs from engineering drawings using conversational programming and/or CAM software.
- Ability to optimize machining strategies and cycle times.
- Experience with Mastercam is a plus.
- Experience machining steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and other common alloys.
- Experience with tight-tolerance machining.
- Experience with multi-axis machining.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing/machine shop (job shop) environment
- Standing for extended periods and lifting moderate weights required

Wage
Negotiable based on knowledge and prior experience.
