Overview
We are seeking a Junior Associate Attorney to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong desire to develop expertise in various areas of commercial litigation, with a focus on breach of contract and business tort disputes. This role offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth and the chance to work for Atlanta businesses and individuals whose cases are expected to require jury verdicts. An interest in developing trial skills is strongly aligned with the duties involved in this position. Recent graduates or attorneys within their first few years of practice are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough legal research and analysis and prepare to efficiently summarize and explain your findings.
- Draft, review, and revise legal pleadings, including complex motions and tailored discovery requests / responses.
- Collaborate with other attorneys and participate in case strategy discussions.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the state bar association or eligibility for admission.
- Strong familiarity with civil practice act statutes and court rules is preferred.
- Proficiency in legal research databases such as Lexis-Nexis / Westlaw is preferred.
- Exceptional writing skills with the ability to draft clear and persuasive legal documents will be valued.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to think critically under pressure will be valued.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment is essential.
- Previous experience in a law office setting is a plus but not required.
- Experience with public speaking, moot court or mock trial competitions, or law review are each a plus but are not required.
