CVOR RN - 40hrs/wk Day Shift; 6:30am-3pm M-F, Rotating on-call

Weekends: No true weekend - just on-call.
Holidays: Follows on-call schedule.
On Call Requirement: Rotating On-Call. 30 minute report-time (non-negotiable). Please ask about on call rate, time and a half once called in. No on-call rooms available.

Responsibilities:

The Perioperative Registered nurse provides direct patient care to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patient populations during the perioperative period, using specialized knowledge and skills to achieve desired patient outcomes.
The perioperative nurse functions as patient advocate.
He/she assesses the surgical environment for potential patient safety concerns and intervenes appropriately while working with the surgical team to facilitate the completion of the surgical procedure.
The Perioperative Registered nurse may assume responsibility for the orientation of new staff members, educational programs, and securing and maintaining supplies and equipment necessary for the delivery of care.

About The Unit:

# of OR's: 2 CV OR rooms
Patient Population: Commonly adults 60+. Cardiac, Endo Vascular, and Open Vascular.
Common surgical cases & approximate # of cases per day: Coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, heart failure, valve repair/replacements, Aortic and Vascular Surgeries
Scrubbing, circulating, or both?: Both. May also float to Main OR.
Reason for Hiring: Cardiovascular Institute is growing and getting a new surgeon, which is why we need additional nurses.

Orientation: Typically 4 months but depends on the candidate.
