Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Traffic Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of vehicles and pedestrians at construction sites. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a dynamic environment. The Traffic Controller will be responsible for monitoring traffic flow, implementing safety measures, and collaborating with construction teams to maintain site safety.
Responsibilities
- Direct traffic flow around construction sites to ensure safety for workers and the public.
- Monitor and control vehicle movement using hand signals and signage.
- Communicate effectively with construction personnel to coordinate activities and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Conduct quality inspections of traffic control setups to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Assist in the setup and maintenance of traffic control devices, including cones, barriers, and signs.
- Report any incidents or unsafe conditions to the project management team promptly.
- Collaborate with construction management teams to assess site conditions and adjust traffic control plans as necessary.
- Participate in regular safety meetings and training sessions to enhance knowledge of traffic management practices.
Requirements
- Previous experience in quality inspection, construction inspection, or quality control is preferred.
- Familiarity with construction management principles and practices is an asset.
- Knowledge of electrical systems may be beneficial for specific projects.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with diverse teams.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining focus on safety protocols.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks as required on a construction site.
