As our veterinary receptionist, you are usually the first voice our clients hear and the face they see. We expect our customers to be greeted with a smile and treated with care at all times.
As a receptionist at Animal General Hospital, you will perform various duties at our Medley, FL office including:
- #1 REQUIREMENT: you must be comfortable working with animals
- Prior receptionist or front-desk experience is a big plus. Experience in an animal hospital or veterinary clinic is preferred, but not required—we will happily train the right person on the job!
- Be a natural multitasker who can handle ringing phones, check-ins, and client questions simultaneously without losing your cool
- Answering phone calls and communicating in a positive manner
- Opening and responding to email
- Setting appointments (easy to use, computer-based scheduling system)
- Weigh a patient when they arrive for a check-up (automated)
- Collecting and processing payments from clients when their office visit is over
- Communicating any important concerns to our office manager
- Various light cleaning duties around the office - keep the waiting room tidy
Form time to time, you may also need to assist with:
- Helping remove animals from cages
- Carry patients to/from the exam room
- Monitor animals who are recuperating from a minor procedure
- Order office and/or pet supplies
- Send out bills, appointment reminders and other notifications to patients
