The Surgery Center at 900 North Michigan is seeking an experienced PACU Nurse Manager to lead our Admission, Pre-Op, and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). This leadership position is ideal for a motivated Registered Nurse who thrives in a fast-paced ambulatory surgery center and is passionate about developing teams, improving operations, and providing an outstanding patient experience.
We are looking for a collaborative, hands-on leader with Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) experience who understands the unique pace and workflow of outpatient surgery.
What You’ll Do
· Provide clinical and operational leadership for the Admission, Pre-Op, and PACU departments.
· Oversee daily workflow, staffing, scheduling, onboarding, competency validation, and staff development.
· Foster a positive, collaborative culture that promotes teamwork, accountability, and exceptional patient care.
· Partner with physicians, anesthesia providers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure efficient patient flow and outstanding surgical outcomes.
· Serve as a clinical resource and mentor while maintaining a visible leadership presence.
· Drive quality improvement initiatives, patient safety, infection prevention, and regulatory compliance.
· Ensure ongoing readiness for Joint Commission, CMS, and IDPH surveys.
· Utilize technology and data to improve workflow, patient outcomes, and departmental performance.
· Act as a patient advocate and ensure the highest standards of compassionate, patient-centered care.
Qualifications Required
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum of 3 years of PACU experience.
- Previous experience working in an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) strongly preferred.
- Previous leadership experience as a Charge Nurse, Supervisor, Assistant Manager, or Nurse Manager.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- BLS certification (ACLS and PALS preferred).
Preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field.
- Formal infection prevention or quality improvement experience.
- Proficiency with electronic scheduling and communication platforms; experience with SIS Advance or similar OR documentation systems is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory standards (The Joint Commission, CMS, IDPH, AMMI).
- Experience with electronic medical records and regulatory compliance.
Pay
Salary Range: $104040- $118843
