American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of cath lab experience for a 13-week acute care assignment requiring ARRT certification and ACLS.

Acute care cardiac cath lab setting with 7 total suites, including 2 cath labs and 5 additional rooms/bays
-
Adult cardiac patient population only, including peripheral vascular, PCI, device implants (ICD, pacemakers); no EP or ablations
-
Average of 4–5 cases per day, ranging from as few as 2 up to 9
-
3-person cath lab team structure consisting of 2 RNs and 1 CV Rad Tech
-
EMR system is Epic (Cupid module); imaging system is Xper (Phillips Dynamics)
-
4x10 hour day shifts, Monday–Friday 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
-
10–11 call shifts per month; call hours are Monday–Friday 3:30 PM–7:00 AM, with weekends covered 7:00 AM–7:00 AM via call

Holidays covered by call (7:00 AM–7:00 AM)

May occasionally float to Non-Invasive CV to perform IV starts

Procedures include interventional cardiology, STEMI response, peripheral vascular, hybrid OR cases, and device implants

Minimum of 2 years of cath lab experience required

ARRT (R) certification required; RCIS not accepted in lieu of ARRT due to WV state X-ray equipment requirements

Current BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) required

WV state license required if applicable

IABP and IVUS experience required
-
Experience with scrubbing and circulating/monitoring cases required

ACIST injector experience preferred but not required

Must be comfortable working with adult cardiac patient populations only

Driver's license address must reflect a residence more than 50 miles from the facility

2 supervisor/peer references, skills checklist completed within the past year, copies of certifications, and a copy of driver's license required for consideration

Responsibilities include scrubbing, circulating, and monitoring for cath lab and hybrid OR cases covering interventional cardiology, STEMI, peripherals, and device implants

Orientation consists of 2 preceptored shifts followed by a buddy call shift

Cardiology is on-call 24/7; pharmacy support available 24/7 via Omnicell
-
Burgundy scrubs are provided for Rad Techs

COVID-19 vaccination is required; medical or religious exemptions may be requested and are subject to facility approval

Candidates who have previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have a 2-year break before returning
-
Travelers may not work within the WVU system for more than 1 cumulative year without taking a 2-year break

First-time travelers are not explicitly excluded, but strong cath lab experience is essential given the call volume and independent expectations
