POSITION DESCRIPTION:
DrinkPAK is looking for an Information Systems Data Analyst who is genuinely curious about what technology can do for people. This role sits where IT meets our business partners and their growing use of AI tools – configuring, testing, and continuously improving the systems our team members touch every day.
BENEFITS: The well-being of our team members and their families is critically important to us. As part of this commitment, we offer:
-
PPO medical, dental, and vision insurance for our employees AND their dependents, 100% paid by the Company
-
A cell phone stipend
-
Annual discretionary bonus
-
401(k) match program, pet insurance, life insurance, and more
LOCATION: The position is based at DrinkPAK's Headquarters in Santa Clarita, California.
TYPE: Full-time; Salaried / Exempt.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Dashboard & Reporting Development
-
Partner with each department to scope, design, and build the dashboards and reports they need to run their operations.
-
Translate operational questions ("why did output drop on this line?", "what's our yard dwell time trending toward?") into data models, measures, and clear visuals - drawing on the data lake as the primary source of truth where available.
-
Understand the full lifecycle: requirements, data validation, build, publish, iterate. Retire or consolidate stale reports.
-
Act as the arbiter of dashboard standards and quality across departments - ensuring consistency, reuse, and sound data practices while each team builds capability.
-
Build with self-service in mind and actively hand off ownership so teams can maintain and extend their own reports rather than depending on a single builder.
Data Lake Enablement
-
Help each department discover, understand, and leverage data lake assets relevant to their operations.
-
Guide teams on how to query, connect to, and build on Lakehouse tables and semantic models rather than relying on one-off extracts or siloed sources.
-
Surface gaps or quality issues in lake data that block departmental use, and partner with data engineering & IT to prioritize fixes.
-
Promote consistent, governed use of the data lake so departments get reliable answers without reinventing pipelines.
Departmental Enablement & Capability Building
-
Identify members within each department who can become capable dashboard & report builders and AI users.
-
Coach and train those champions on tooling, data literacy, data lake access, dashboard design, and responsible AI use until they can deliver work independently.
-
Help stand up departmental practices so reporting, data lake use, and AI-assisted analysis become sustainable within each team, with you as the shared standard-setter and escalation point.
-
Create reusable templates, patterns, and playbooks that make it easier for newly enabled team members to succeed.
Business Systems Configuration
-
Configure and optimize departmental business systems to meet team needs - for example, configuring Workday for HR and Payroll workflows, reports, and security.
-
Gather requirements, configure, test, and document changes; build or adjust in-system reports and data extracts.
-
Serve as a knowledgeable point of contact between departments and the systems they depend on.
AI-Augmented Delivery
-
Use AI tools to accelerate every stage of the work - drafting and debugging SQL/DAX, prototyping visuals, summarizing requirements, generating documentation, and speeding up system configuration.
-
Teach departmental champions how to use AI effectively in their own dashboarding and analysis workflows.
-
Develop reusable prompts, patterns, and templates that make the whole organization faster over time.
-
Apply sound judgment around data governance and privacy when using AI tools with company data, and model that judgment for others.
Cross-Functional Partnership
-
Operate on the rotating embedded schedule, giving each department dedicated, predictable attention.
-
Build trust and fluency in each department's domain so requirements gathering and enablement get faster and sharper over time.
-
Communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders - set expectations, explain tradeoffs, and manage a healthy request pipeline.
Documentation & Enablement
-
Maintain clear runbooks and documentation for what you build and configure.
-
Train department users to build, maintain, and extend their dashboards and reports, and to apply AI tooling where it adds value.
Please note this job description is not designed to contain a comprehensive list of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without prior notice.
QUALIFICATIONS
-
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field – or equivalent hands-on experience.
-
At least 3+ years of experience in a systems analyst, business analyst, business intelligence, analytics, or a closely related role.
-
Practical, current experience using AI assistants such as Claude for real work, with sound judgment about where AI output must be verified.
-
Demonstrated backend configuration experience in an enterprise or comparable platform, including business process and workflow setup, security configuration, calculated fields, and reporting.
-
Proven testing discipline: writing test cases, executing functional and regression testing, and documenting defects clearly.
-
Strong data skills – advanced Excel and SQL, comfort with large data sets, and the ability to reconcile data across systems, including working against a data lake or Lakehouse.
-
Excellent written documentation skills, ability to gather requirements, and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical partners across multiple functions.
-
Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and drive issues to closure with minimal direction.
-
Discretion and sound judgment handling confidential team member and compensation data.
-
Demonstrated use of AI tools to accelerate delivery, with good judgment about where they help and where they don't.
Preferred
-
Experience with Microsoft Fabric and the broader Power BI ecosystem.
-
Experience coaching or enabling others on analytics, reporting, or related tools - not just building alone.
-
Workday (or other large enterprise system) configuration and reporting experience (e.g., RaaS reports, security configuration).
-
Exposure to ERP (SAP), MES, or WMS systems and operational/manufacturing data.
-
SQL, Python, or scripting experience for data analysis, validation, and automation.
-
Experience building automations or agents with AI and LLM tooling, prompt engineering, or workflow platforms such as Power Automate, Workato, or n8n.
-
Experience with BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau and reporting on people data.
-
Manufacturing, food and beverage, CPG, or other multi-site hourly-workforce environment.
