Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Med Certified Caregiver to join our dynamic care team. In this vital role, you will provide high-quality, person-centered care to individuals with diverse needs, including seniors, residents in assisted living and nursing home settings, and individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia. Your expertise in medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) will ensure residents receive respectful, safe, and effective care. Duties
- Deliver personalized care by assisting residents with ADLs such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using tools like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and protocols, maintaining detailed documentation within Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
- Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration to track health status
- Support residents’ emotional well-being through social interaction, companionship, and facilitating participation in community activities
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through routine cleaning tasks and infection control practices aligned with healthcare standards
- Assist with meal preparation ensuring nutritional needs are met while respecting dietary restrictions and preferences
Qualifications
- Valid Med Certified Caregiver license or certification recognized in your region
- Proven experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care environments with a focus on senior or memory care
- Knowledge of Alzheimer’s disease, dementia care techniques, and behavior management strategies
- Ability to accurately take vital signs and administer medications following prescribed protocols
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities requiring direct support
- Familiarity with EMR systems for documentation purposes
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and healthcare team members
- Ability to lift or move residents safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts; physical stamina for caregiving tasks
