Summary
Provides technical support for all simulation operations including maintenance and repair of computerized mannequins (software and hardware).
Job Duties
-
Serves as simulator operator running pre-programmed scenarios with faculty facilitators ensuring all equipment is set up for course programs, which includes restocking/replenishing supplies and cleaning of equipment.
- Understands the use and operation of various simulator technology.
- Schedules and records simulation events using the AV system.
- Provides daily/monthly/quarterly maintenance to maintain the condition of manikins, task trainers, and other simulation equipment.
- Operates digital, audiovisual hardware, and software systems to record simulation sessions with subsequent editing and transfer in an archive format for analysis.
- Schedules Standardized Patient (SP) Program, participate in recruitment, orientation, feedback sessions, and yearly updates of SP's.
- Provides technical assistance, support, and training to faculty, staff, and standardized patients in use of simulation equipment.
- Participates in technical training.
- Assists with special projects or initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications-
High School Diploma/GED
- 2 years technology or Healthcare related field
- Proficiency in MS software applications including MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as internet and database applications.
- Knowledge of audio/video equipment and software for recording, duplication, mixing, and editing.
- Ability to learn new hardware and software quickly and independently.
- Self-motivated and ability to work effectively in team environment.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
- CHSE-Cert Healthcare Simulation Educator SSH - State of Pennsylvania within 1 Year
Preferred Qualifications-
Knowledge of patient simulation, technologies, and application.
- Ability to assess, troubleshoot, and fix equipment failures in a timely fashion.
- Knowledge of computer hardware equipment and software applications relevant to simulator functions.
Physical Demands
Lift over 50 lbs. Push/pull up to 140 lbs. Carry 80 lbs. short distances. Frequent standing/walking, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing and reaching overhead.
