Duties
- Assist lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate curriculum and activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional development
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play, meals, naps, and learning activities to ensure safety and proper behavior management
- Support children with special needs by adapting activities and providing personalized care in accordance with individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning while adhering to health and safety standards
- Communicate effectively with parents about their child's progress, daily activities, and any concerns or observations
- Follow mandated reporting laws by promptly reporting any signs of abuse or neglect to appropriate authorities
- Assist with classroom setup, material preparation, and maintaining documentation related to child development progress
Skills
- Proven experience working with young children in daycare, preschool, or childcare settings
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Certification in first aid, CPR, including pediatric first aid, is required; ongoing training is preferred
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is highly desirable
- Strong classroom management skills combined with the ability to foster positive behavior through behavior management strategies
- Excellent communication skills for parent interaction and team collaboration
- Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively while following safety protocols
- Familiarity with mandated reporting laws and child supervision standards
- Compassionate caregiving approach with patience and enthusiasm for nurturing young learners
