Structural Materials Inc. is looking for a dependable Class A CDL Driver on an as-needed basis to support our Bismarck location. This is a part-time position with a flexible, on-call schedule (primarily daytime hours); ideal for someone wanting to pick up work as our volume requires, especially during busy summer months. Routes are primarily local/regional delivery and transfer routes.
We're looking for a driver who takes pride in their work: someone reliable and punctual, pays close attention to detail, keeps a professional demeanor and appearance on every delivery, and brings a strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
What you'll do:
- Transport and deliver product to customers and job sites
- Load, secure, and safely unload materials as needed
- Inspect vehicles and perform pre-/post-trip safety checks
- Plan routes, meet delivery schedules, and maintain accurate logs
- Represent the company professionally during every delivery
Qualifications:
- Available on short notice as work demands
- Valid Class A CDL license
- Must be able to meet all FMCSA driver qualification requirements, including a valid medical certificate (DOT physical), drug and alcohol testing, and Clearinghouse compliance
- Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
- Hands-on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB, ELD, etc.)
- Forklift experience preferred
- Physically able to lift up to 80 lbs
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to adapt to unexpected situations such as traffic and weather conditions
