Truck Driver- Local Delivery Route
Primary Purpose of this position is responsible for driving a truck to deliver material and equipment from our Main Warehouse to job sites, in adherence with safe driving guidelines.
Major Responsibilities
- Load material and equipment onto truck at the Warehouse Location and prepares for delivery (May be required to use power equipment, such as a forklift or pallet jack, to load the truck).
- Performs pre-trip inspection of truck, and cargo to ensure that mechanical, safety and any emergency equipment is in good working order.
- Ensures that cargo is secured and all load-related documentation is provided (Material/Equipment List).
- Unload material/equipment from truck to job sites, inspecting cargo and completing required documentation.
- Performs all job responsibilities in adherence with established Company driving policies and procedures.
- Remains compliant with Company, state and federal testing and licensing requirements, submitting proof as requested.
- Reports vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations or damage to vehicles as required per Company policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills/Knowledge Required
- CDL license required.
- Ability to use equipment such as forklift and pallet jack to load trucks, and remain certified to operate all such equipment.
- Physical ability to lift material/equipment not to exceed 70 lbs in weight per item.
- Highly motivated and ability to work in a fast pace environment.
- Able to work as part of a team.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, weekends and overtime, in accordance with company requirements.
- Ability to perform all tasks in a safe manner, following all safety rules and guidelines.
Education and Experience
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Minimum two years experience driving commercial box trucks required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
