Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Band Teacher / Director to lead our vibrant music program and inspire students through the power of music education. Duties
- Design and implement engaging music curricula that incorporate various learning styles.
- Lead rehearsals and coordinate performances for school bands, ensuring high-quality musical presentations that showcase student talent.
- Develop lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, integrating learning technology and LMS (Learning Management System) tools to enhance instruction.
- Manage classroom environments effectively through behavior management strategies, classroom management techniques, and inclusive teaching practices for students with disabilities.
- Foster an inclusive atmosphere by working with students from diverse cultural backgrounds and adapting teaching methods accordingly.
- Collaborate with faculty on curriculum development initiatives, school events, and extracurricular activities that promote musical education across the school community.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in classroom teaching of music or band programs within private or public school settings; prior experience is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with colleagues, engaging students, and connecting with families from various cultural backgrounds.
- Passion for working with children and nurturing their musical talents through innovative teaching methods that promote confidence and creativity.
- Must hold a valid Ohio License/Certificate (Music K-12)
- Must be highly qualified upon hiring
- Must demonstrate organizational skills and communication skills
- Must be an effective communicator and motivator
- Must possess strong leadership skills
- Must have successful BCI and FBI background checks
- Must have successful pre-employment drug test
- Must be willing to carry out the duties of the job description
- Marching Band Program Director experience preferred
