The Data Literacy Specialist supports the development and delivery of Sun's data literacy and training initiatives. This role helps create learning content, maintain role-based training materials, support workshops, and assist team members in building confidence using data in their daily work. The Data Literacy Specialist plays a key part in improving understanding of data concepts and promoting consistent, responsible use of organizational data. The ultimate objective of this role is to build a confident, data-enabled workforce that connects daily activities to measurable outcomes and uses high-quality information to drive better, faster decisions.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of role-based learning materials covering data literacy fundamentals, analytics concepts, and responsible data use. (Essential)

Help develop training modules such as guided tutorials, job aids, hands on labs, and short videos. (Essential)

Assist with the delivery of instructor-led sessions, workshops, and small group coaching. (Essential)

Support the coordination of the enterprise data literacy program, including scheduling sessions, managing resource libraries, and documenting learning paths. (Essential)

Help maintain learning modules, certification activities, and assessments. (Essential)

Track participation, feedback, and completion metrics for reporting and improvement. (Essential)

Partner with analytics, business intelligence, and business teams to gather real examples, use cases, and workflows that strengthen training content. (Essential)

Provide guidance to team members on where to find trusted data, how to interpret dashboards, and how to apply data concepts in their roles.

Reinforce consistent definitions, key performance indicators, and data usage standards.

Support communication efforts that promote data literacy opportunities, updates, and success stories.

Assist in nurturing data communities of practice by helping plan events, collect discussion topics, and documenting shared knowledge.

Gather user feedback and help identify opportunities to refine content, improve clarity, or expand learning resources.

Help ensure learning pathways remain aligned to evolving analytics tools and organizational needs.

Partner with the Learning & Development team to ensure training, development, and organizational change management approaches are aligned with enterprise approved methodologies and best practices.

- High School Diploma or GED (Required)

Bachelor's Degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Business, Education, or a related field (Required)

4 years in experience in analytics, business intelligence, data training, or related areas (Required)

Foundational understanding of analytics concepts such as key performance indicators, metrics, dashboards (Required)

Experience in creating instructional materials or delivering training to varied audiences (Required)

Strong communication, facilitation, and presentation abilities (Required)

Ability to translate technical concepts into accessible explanations (Required)

Exposure to business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Domo

Basic experience with instructional design or adult learning methods

Experience supporting adoption of new tools or data-driven practices

Awareness‑level understanding of artificial intelligence concepts (no development experience needed)
