Position Overview
AfroSpice Bistro is seeking an experienced and dependable Prep Cook to support our kitchen operations. The ideal candidate is organized, efficient, and passionate about food preparation. You will be responsible for preparing ingredients, maintaining food quality, and ensuring the kitchen is fully stocked and ready for service.
Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, slicing, and portioning vegetables, meats, seafood, and other ingredients.
- Assist chefs with daily food preparation and meal setup.
- Prepare sauces, marinades, and other recipes according to kitchen standards.
- Label, date, and properly store all food items.
- Maintain a clean and organized prep station throughout the shift.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Assist with inventory organization and receiving deliveries.
- Lift and transport food products and kitchen supplies.
- Support the kitchen team during busy service periods.
- Complete additional kitchen duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1–2 years of restaurant kitchen experience as a Prep Cook or Kitchen Assistant.
- Experience using commercial kitchen equipment and knives safely.
- Ability to follow recipes and preparation standards.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds or more.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be reliable, proactive, and a team player.

Pay: From $100.00 per day
