Responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense medications accurately in accordance with medical orders, including IV infusions and aseptic techniques for sterile preparations.
- Assist pharmacists with medication intake, verification, and inventory management to ensure timely availability of pharmaceuticals.
- Provide exceptional patient service by answering medication-related questions and supporting patient care initiatives.
- Support critical care and acute care teams by understanding medical terminology and assisting with medication administration protocols.
- Maintain meticulous records of medication dispensing, administration, and inventory logs to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to facilitate smooth medication workflows within hospital or LTC pharmacy settings.
- Ensure adherence to safety procedures during medication preparation and handling, emphasizing aseptic techniques and infection control measures.
Experience
- Previous pharmacy technician experience in LTC pharmacy or hospital environments is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration processes, and pharmacy operations.
- Experience working within critical care or acute care settings enhances your ability to support complex patient needs.
- Familiarity with IV infusion preparation and aseptic techniques is essential for sterile compounding tasks.
- Strong patient service orientation with excellent communication skills to effectively assist patients and healthcare teams.
