Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a Project SEARCH Instructor where you will play a vital role in empowering young adults with disabilities to gain meaningful employment through an innovative, hands-on internship program. This role is a full time position for the 2026-2027 academic school year. In this role, you will serve as a dedicated mentor and guide, fostering independence, confidence, and professional growth. Your energetic and proactive approach will inspire participants to reach their full potential while collaborating closely with employers, educators, and support staff to create a successful transition into the workforce. Duties
- Develop and implement individualized training plans tailored to each participant’s strengths and goals
- Provide direct instruction and coaching on workplace skills, communication, and professionalism
- Facilitate engaging classroom activities that promote skill-building in real-world settings
- Collaborate with employers to identify internship opportunities that align with participants’ interests and abilities
- Monitor progress through regular assessments and provide constructive feedback to support continuous improvement
- Foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages independence and self-advocacy
- Maintain detailed records of participant progress, attendance, and program activities in compliance with organizational policies
Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to motivate and support diverse learners
- Ability to develop creative teaching strategies tailored to individual needs
- Experience working with young adults or students in educational or community settings—university experience is highly valued
- Excellent organizational skills for tracking progress and coordinating activities
