Clayton Contracting of SWFL is a growing commercial roofing and general contracting company specializing in high-quality roofing systems, custom residential construction, and government projects throughout Southwest Florida.
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Roofing & Construction Estimator / Project Manager to oversee projects from initial bid through final closeout.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys both estimating and project management. You'll work directly with company leadership to pursue commercial roofing, government, industrial, multifamily, and high-end custom residential projects.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple large projects simultaneously.
Responsibilities
Estimating:
- Review architectural plans and specifications
- Perform quantity takeoffs
- Prepare detailed cost estimates
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing
- Analyze project risks
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits
- Develop project budgets
- Prepare bid proposals
- Value engineering
- Coordinate with manufacturers regarding roofing systems and warranties
Project Management:
- Manage projects from award through closeout
- Prepare project schedules
- Coordinate subcontractors
- Procure materials
- Conduct pre-construction meetings
- Monitor budgets and profitability
- Process RFIs
- Prepare submittals
- Manage change orders
- Coordinate inspections
- Conduct quality control inspections
- Schedule manufacturer inspections
- Prepare closeout documents
- Ensure warranty documentation is completed

- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Effective client communication skills with a focus on transparency and building long-term relationships.
- Construction site experience coupled with a background in managing or estimating large-scale commercial projects is highly desirable.
