Senior Personal Lines Insurance Account Manager
Position Summary
William Snyder Insurance is seeking an experienced Senior Personal Lines Insurance Account Manager with at least seven years of personal lines insurance experience.
The ideal candidate is organized, service-focused, knowledgeable about personal insurance products, and capable of independently managing complex client accounts. This role requires strong relationship-building, consultative selling, coverage analysis, and account-retention skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and retain a portfolio of personal lines clients, including homeowners, automobile, umbrella, flood, recreational vehicle, rental property, and other personal insurance accounts.
- Review client needs and recommend appropriate coverage, limits, deductibles, and policy enhancements.
- Prepare applications, proposals, quotations, renewals, policy changes, binders, certificates, and other insurance documents.
- Market new and renewal business to multiple insurance carriers.
- Review policies and renewal offers for accuracy, coverage gaps, pricing changes, and cross-selling opportunities.
- Clearly explain coverage, exclusions, deductibles, premiums, and carrier requirements to clients.
- Process endorsements, cancellations, reinstatements, billing inquiries, and claims-related service requests.
- Maintain accurate and complete client records in the agency management system.
- Follow up on underwriting requirements, inspections, non-renewals, and pending documentation.
- Develop strong relationships with clients, carrier representatives, underwriters, and vendors.
- Resolve client service issues professionally and promptly.
- Identify opportunities to improve client coverage and round out accounts.
- Meet agency goals for retention, referrals, account rounding, and new business growth.
- Follow agency procedures, carrier guidelines, licensing requirements, and applicable insurance regulations.
- Mentor Personal Lines Account Managers
Required Qualifications
- At least seven years of personal lines insurance account management experience.
- Active Property and Casualty insurance license in the state of North Carolina.
- Strong knowledge of personal automobile, homeowners, umbrella, flood, and related insurance products.
- Experience working with multiple standard and preferred insurance carriers.
- Proficiency with agency management systems, comparative rating platforms, Microsoft Office, email, and electronic document systems.
- Strong understanding of underwriting guidelines, policy forms, coverage analysis, billing, and claims procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong consultative selling and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent organizational, time-management, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines and work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and exceptional client service.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional insurance designation such as CISR, CIC, CPIA, or CPCU.
- Experience working in an independent insurance agency.
- Experience with the EZLynx agency management system.
- Familiarity with insurance compliance and errors-and-omissions risk-management practices.
Success in This Role
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong client retention, accurate and timely account servicing, consultative selling skills, sound coverage recommendations, and a consistent ability to identify account-rounding and referral opportunities.
