Job Summary
Michael J. Adams, P.C. is searching for a detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our legal team. This position is responsible for preparing and filing legal documents, managing court deadlines, coordinating with courts and third parties, and assisting with post-judgment enforcement efforts. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong administrative skills, proficient in typing and can manage a high-volume caseload.
Legal Assistant Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and file legal documents with state and county courts.
- Draft routine post-judgment pleadings, motions, notices, and correspondence.
- Assist with legal administration and related court filings.
- Monitor court deadlines and maintain case calendars.
- Process judgment enforcement documents.
- Communicate with courts, attorneys, and other third parties.
- Maintain accurate electronic case files and document management systems.
- Track filing confirmations, court rulings, and case status updates.
- Assist attorneys and management with special projects and reporting.
- Assist with document review and data entry tasks ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in all records.
Qualifications for a Legal Assistant
- High school or equivalent education
- Pass background test
- Pass drug test
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with preparing documents within a law/ administrative office setting is a plus but not required
