Join our dynamic team as a Greenhouse Maintenance and Assistant! In this energetic role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the optimal operation and upkeep of our greenhouse facilities. Your hands-on approach will support healthy plant growth, maintain irrigation systems, and assist with general plant care tasks such as potting and inventory. Duties
- Maintain and repair greenhouse systems, including irrigation, weed shield, cleaning and organization to ensure optimal plant health.
- Assist with picking customer orders, potting and watering plants, and keeping supplies stocked.
- Operate hand tools to support daily maintenance tasks.
- Identify plants accurately to support proper care. We will also help in teaching this information.
- Conduct routine inspections of the greenhouse environment, including greenhouse needs, inventory and plant placement within the greenhouse.
- Support outdoor in keeping the grounds cleaned and organized.
- Perform heavy lifting when necessary to move supplies, soil bags, or equipment efficiently.
Requirements
- Previous experience in horticulture, greenhouse work, farming, or landscaping is highly desirable but not required
- Knowledge of irrigation systems and basic plant care techniques is desireable but not required.
- Familiarity with gardening tools, hand tools, and mechanical knowledge for maintenance tasks.
- Ability to learn to identify various plants and understand their specific needs.
- Strong outdoor work ethic with the physical ability for heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking in hot greenhouse conditions.
- A proactive attitude with a passion for gardening, agriculture, or outdoor environments. Pay: From $16.00 per hour
