Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Leasing Agent to join our dynamic property management team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for prospective residents, guiding them through the leasing process with enthusiasm and professionalism. Your expertise in property leasing, customer service, and legal administrative procedures will ensure a seamless experience for applicants while maintaining compliance with Fair Housing regulations and Section 8 guidelines. Responsibilities
- Greet prospective tenants warmly, answer inquiries via phone and in person, and provide comprehensive property tours.
- Manage leasing applications efficiently using property management software, ensuring accurate data entry and document filing.
- Explain lease terms, negotiate rental agreements, and prepare contracts in accordance with legal standards and landlord-tenant law.
- Verify applicant eligibility for programs like LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) and Section 8 housing assistance, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
- Conduct thorough background checks, including credit reports and rental verifications, while maintaining confidentiality.
- Coordinate property viewings, follow up on leads, upsell available units or amenities, and foster strong customer relationships through excellent service.
- Assist with recordkeeping, filing of legal documents, and conflict management to resolve tenant concerns promptly.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in property leasing or real estate administrative roles; familiarity with property management systems such as Yardi or OneSite is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of landlord-tenant law, Fair Housing regulations, LIHTC programs, Section 8 policies, and legal administrative procedures.
- Excellent customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and conflict resolution abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate lease terms effectively while adhering to regulatory standards.
- Office experience involving data entry and filing systems
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
