Job Summary
The Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal is responsible for assisting their Attorney(s) by providing a broad range of administrative and clerical duties. This position requires the right combination of being detail oriented, being task motivated, and having the ability to thrive in the fast-paced legal industry.
Responsibilities and Duties
- High attention to detail.
- Maintaining electronic and hard copy client files, medical records, and correspondence.
- Responding to and resolving client inquiries and questions.
- Drafting and editing of legal documents, for Attorney review, such as Pleadings, Motions, and Discovery for both Circuit Court and General District Court proceedings.
- Calendaring deadlines and appointments.
- Answer and transfers phone calls, when necessary.
- Retrieves information as requested from records, email, and other related documents;
Qualifications
- Highschool Diploma / GED required.
- Proven experience as a Litigation Paralegal or similar role.
- Strong research and communication skills.
- Experience with the Virginia Circuit Court system.
- Technology savvy with experience in Microsoft Office Suite required.
- Proficient data entry skills utilizing multiple online software/programs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Understanding clerical procedures and systems such as recordkeeping and filing.
- Ability to work independently.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
