As a Surgical Technician, you'll play an important role throughout the surgical experience, working closely with surgeons, registered nurses, anesthesia professionals, and the broader perioperative team.
- Preparing the operating room, surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies
- Establishing and maintaining a sterile field using proper aseptic technique
- Scrubbing for surgical procedures and anticipating the needs of surgeons and the OR team
- Passing instruments and supplies efficiently during procedures
- Providing second-assist support when appropriate
- Performing surgical counts and supporting patient safety protocols
- Collaborating with surgeons, circulating nurses, anesthesia staff, and perioperative personnel
- Supporting sterile processing and central supply operations
- Assisting with OR environmental safety and surgical suite disinfection
- Participating in the development and implementation of surgical patient care plans
- Maintaining professional, compassionate communication with patients and colleagues
- Graduate of an approved Surgical Technology / Surgical Technician program
- Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Associate degree in Surgical Technology preferred
- BLS/CPR certification required within 6 months of hire
- Strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and operating room procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm, organized, and attentive to detail in a fast-paced surgical environment
