Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Medical Assistant with a minimum of five years of surgical assisting expertise to join our dynamic healthcare team. This vital role combines clinical proficiency with administrative support, ensuring seamless patient care in fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology, along with a strong background in surgical procedures. This position will require travel to our Las Colinas, Irving location on Wednesdays.
Responsibilities
- Assist in procedure, ensuring patient safety and comfort during preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases
- Prepare procedure room and surgical instruments, maintaining strict sterilization protocols and inventory management
- Take accurate vital signs, perform patient intake assessments, and document medical histories efficiently using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
- Support physicians with medication administration and basic life support (BLS) when necessary
- Manage patient flow by scheduling appointments and coordinating follow-up care
- Conduct patient education on procedures, post-op care, medication instructions, and health maintenance strategies
- Maintain detailed documentation of all clinical activities while adhering to office policies and regulations
Qualifications
- Minimum of five years of surgical assisting experience in diverse settings such as hospital medicine or outpatient clinics
- Strong knowledge of sterilization of instrumentation, surgical instrumentation and surgical assisting
- Proficiency with EHR systems
- Demonstrated expertise in anatomy and physiology relevant to surgical procedures and patient care
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required;
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
