We are seeking an Attorney to support a high-volume medical malpractice defense practice in Florida. This role is ideal for an attorney who excels in legal analysis, critical thinking, and written advocacy. The position is heavily focused on drafting substantive legal memoranda but also includes the independent handling of depositions.
Key Responsibilities:
· Independently take depositions of parties, fact witnesses, and expert witnesses in medical malpractice cases
· Draft high-quality legal memoranda, including motions, responses, and replies that require advanced analytical reasoning and critical thinking
· Conduct detailed legal research and synthesize complex medical and legal issues into clear, persuasive written arguments
· Review and analyze medical records, expert reports, and deposition transcripts with a critical, detail-oriented approach
· Develop case strategies in collaboration with lead counsel
· Handle discovery-related tasks, including drafting and responding to written discovery as needed
· Draft and respond to client communications, including summaries of depositions
Qualifications:
· Active admission to the Florida Bar
· 5+ years of litigation experience
· Ability to independently take depositions
· Exceptional legal writing, analytical, and critical thinking skills
· Strong attention to detail
· Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
· Prior experience in a high-volume defense litigation environment
· Experience handling medical negligence claims
· Experience drafting motions for summary judgement, Daubert challenges or responses, and/or appellate briefs
