Duties
- Stock shelves efficiently, ensuring products are neatly displayed and accurately labeled to enhance the shopping experience
- Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system to process transactions quickly and accurately, handling cash, credit, and mobile payments with professionalism
- Provide friendly customer service by answering questions, assisting with product locations, and offering product demos when needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area and sales floor to promote a safe shopping environment
- Upsell relevant products to maximize sales opportunities while ensuring customer satisfaction
- Manage inventory levels through stocking, merchandising, and reporting low stock items to management
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or via online inquiries
Skills
- Previous experience with POS systems and cashiering is highly desirable
- Supervising experience is a plus, especially in overseeing team members or training new staff
- Bilingual abilities are preferred to serve a diverse customer base effectively
- Strong communication skills to engage customers confidently and clearly
- Ability to perform basic math quickly for cash handling and retail math calculations
- Knowledge of grocery store operations or retail sales enhances your ability to succeed in this role
- Experience with merchandising, stocking, and product demos helps create an engaging shopping environment
- Excellent customer service skills combined with phone etiquette ensure positive interactions at all touchpoints
