Responsibilities
- Operate cash registers and POS (Point of Sale) systems efficiently to process retail sales transactions accurately and swiftly
- Handle cash drawer operations with precision, including cash handling, balancing registers, and running lottery machine
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries
- Stock shelves and merchandise displays to ensure the store remains attractive, organized, and fully stocked
- Maintain phone etiquette when assisting customers via phone or online inquiries, ensuring clear communication
- Assist with inventory management tasks such as stocking, merchandising, and participating in stock counts
- Be responsible for opening or closing the store
Skills
- Proven experience with POS systems and cash register operations in a retail or grocery environment
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customer needs more effectively
- Knowledge of retail store product details and merchandising techniques to enhance sales efforts
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions, making change, and performing retail math calculations
- Excellent phone etiquette for handling customer inquiries courteously over the phone
