Hearne ISD is seeking a dedicated Half-Time Nursing Program Teacher to launch and support the district’s new Nursing Pathway funded through the JET Grant. This educator will play a critical role in building a high-quality, industry-aligned program that prepares Hearne students for Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and other entry-level healthcare certifications. The ideal candidate is passionate about rural student access, hands-on learning, and workforce readiness.
Deliver engaging instruction aligned to TEKS and industry standards for CNA and foundational health science.
Develop and maintain a safe, compliant clinical skills lab using JET-funded equipment.
Prepare students for certification exams, clinical competencies, and workplace expectations.
Collaborate with campus and district leadership to ensure program fidelity and grant compliance.
Maintain accurate documentation required for JET grant reporting.
Build partnerships with local healthcare providers for clinical experiences.
Support student recruitment, retention, and program growth.
Current Texas RN or LVN license in good standing.
Minimum 2 years of nursing experience.
Ability to meet TEA requirements for Health Science teaching assignments.
Strong communication, organization, and instructional skills.
Prior teaching experience in secondary or post-secondary settings.
Experience with CNA training or clinical instruction.
Familiarity with rural education and workforce development.
Commitment to building new programs and supporting underserved student populations.
This is a daily school week assignment
Half-time schedule (approx. 20 hours/week) - includes classes and preparation time.
Position contingent on continued JET grant funding.
