Responsibilities
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans based on ABA principles to promote skill development and reduce challenging behaviors.
- Assist children with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as dressing, grooming, feeding, and toileting to foster independence.
- Collect and record precise behavioral data during therapy sessions to monitor progress and inform treatment adjustments.
- Support children in educational settings by applying special education techniques and behavior management strategies.
- Communicate regularly with clients’ families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure consistency and transparency in care.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation, behavioral records, and compliance with HIPAA regulations to safeguard client confidentiality.
- Adhere strictly to the Professional and Ethical Compliance Code for Behavior Analysts while delivering direct behavioral therapy.
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children, especially those with autism spectrum disorders or other neurodevelopmental disabilities.
- Knowledge of applied behavior analysis (ABA), behavior management, and implementing ABA therapy protocols effectively.
- Experience assisting with ADLs and supporting behavioral health initiatives in home-based or school environments.
- Ability to collect detailed behavioral data accurately and utilize medical terminology appropriately within documentation.
- Familiarity with medical records management, HIPAA compliance, and medical terminology related to developmental disabilities.
- Strong communication skills for engaging with clients’ families, caregivers, and team members professionally and empathetically.
