Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Material Takeoff Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately estimating material quantities from project drawings and specifications, ensuring seamless project planning and procurement. Your expertise will help optimize material usage, reduce waste, and support efficient project execution.
Duties
- Review architectural and engineering drawings to identify all necessary materials for each project
- Prepare precise material takeoff reports by quantifying materials such as wood, hardware, finishes, and other components
- Collaborate with project managers and production teams to verify material requirements and specifications
- Ensure all takeoffs align with project budgets, timelines, and quality standards
- Maintain organized records of all takeoff documents for easy reference and future projects
- Identify potential material shortages or overages early in the planning process
- Update takeoff data regularly based on project changes or revisions
Qualifications
- Proven experience in material takeoff, construction estimating, or related roles within cabinetry, carpentry, or construction industries
- Strong proficiency with CAD software, estimating tools, or specialized takeoff software is preferred
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to interpret complex technical drawings accurately
- Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and suppliers
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
- Knowledge of building codes, industry standards, and material specifications is a plus
