Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality massage therapy sessions utilizing techniques such as Swedish, deep tissue, trigger point therapy, sports massage, prenatal massage, and other modalities based on client needs
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to understand individual concerns, goals, and medical histories
- Communicate effectively with clients to explain treatment plans, address questions, and ensure comfort throughout sessions
- Maintain detailed records of treatments administered and client progress in compliance with privacy regulations
- Stay informed about current best practices in physiology, anatomy, pain management, occupational health, and medical terminology to enhance service quality
- Promote a positive client experience by providing excellent customer service and fostering a relaxing environment
Skills
- Proven experience in massage therapy with expertise in Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, sports massage, prenatal massage, and other modalities
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pain management techniques, and medical terminology relevant to therapeutic massage
- Excellent patient assessment skills to customize treatments effectively
- Exceptional client communication abilities to build trust and ensure satisfaction
- Prior experience working in med spas or wellness centers is preferred
- Ability to work independently while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail
Requirement
- Valid Virginia Massage Therapist License
