Responsibilities
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and offering product recommendations
- Upsell items and promote special deals or new products to enhance the customer experience
- Maintain clean and organized checkout areas, including stocking shelves and merchandising displays
- Conduct product demos when appropriate to showcase features and benefits to customers
- Handle cash, credit card transactions, and perform basic math calculations with precision
- Assist with inventory management tasks such as stocking shelves, organizing merchandise, and conducting stock counts
Qualifications
- Previous cashiering or retail sales experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Strong communication skills in both English and bilingual capabilities are highly valued
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and retail math is advantageous
- Ability to stand for extended periods, move quickly through tasks, and work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills to create positive interactions
- Supervising experience is a plus for those interested in growth opportunities within the team
- Experience with grocery store operations or merchandising is beneficial but not mandatory
