Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, presentation standards, and safety guidelines
- Assist in food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders during busy service hours
- Monitor food quality during preparation and presentation to uphold high standards
- Support menu planning efforts by suggesting improvements or new dish ideas based on customer feedback
- Handle food handling responsibilities responsibly, including proper storage and sanitation practices
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is highly preferred
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in food preparation techniques
- Knowledge of food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures
- Experience with meal preparation, cooking, and food industry standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen while maintaining attention to detail
- Familiarity with dietary department practices or dietary aide experience is a plus
- Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors
