Job Summary
*CDL A NO RESTRICTION PREFERRED* We are seeking a dynamic and versatile Tow Truck Driver/Mechanic to join our team! *Our shop is located in Hackensack, NJ. * We do Gas and Diesel repairs as well as towing. In this energetic role, you will be responsible for safely towing and recovering vehicles, performing minor mechanical repairs, and ensuring vehicles are loaded and unloaded securely. Your expertise will keep our operations running smoothly, providing exceptional customer service while demonstrating mechanical proficiency and safe driving practices. Duties
- Operate tow trucks, including flatbed and vehicle recovery towing equipment, to transport vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Perform vehicle recovery towing, ensuring proper cargo securement protocols are followed for all types of vehicles.
- Conduct basic vehicle troubleshooting and minor mechanical repairs to assist with on-site repairs or prepare vehicles for transport.
- Safely load and unload vehicles onto tow trucks using manual transmission skills and mechanical knowledge.
- Maintain accurate records of all towing activities, vehicle conditions, and repair work performed.
- Assist customers professionally by providing clear communication, resolving conflicts effectively, and delivering excellent customer service.
- Follow all safety guidelines related to cargo securement protocols, vehicle mechanics, and safe driving practices for commercial trucks and tow trucks.
Skills
- Strong automotive diagnostics skills to identify mechanical issues quickly and accurately.
- Proven experience in automotive repair, including minor mechanical vehicle repairs and basic troubleshooting.
- Valid commercial truck driving license with experience in commercial driving environments.
- Skilled in vehicle mechanics specific to truck drivers and tow truck operations.
- Knowledge of cargo securement protocols to ensure safe transportation of all vehicles.
- Ability to operate flatbed tow trucks confidently, including manual transmission models.
- Excellent conflict management skills to handle customer interactions professionally under pressure.
- Familiarity with vehicle recovery towing techniques and safe vehicle loading procedures.
- Mechanical knowledge related to automotive diagnostics and repair processes.
- Strong driving skills with a focus on safety, load & unload procedures, and adherence to traffic laws.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic vehicle issues efficiently and perform minor repairs as needed.

Pay: $25.82 - $42.09 per hour
