This role is ideal for ICU RNs eager to enhance their skills in both intensive care and stepdown settings, collaborating with experienced colleagues from various backgrounds. With a 13-week contract in a dynamic 18-bed unit known for its strong teamwork, you’ll have the chance to contribute to excellent patient care while also expanding your resume and professional network. The schedule includes 12-hour night shifts, every other weekend, and holiday rotation. Travel RNs benefit from the opportunity to float to stepdown care, developing adaptability and a versatile skill set.
Schedule/Hours
- 12-hour nights
- 36 hours guaranteed per week (option for 48 upon request)
- Every other weekend and holiday rotation
Qualifications
- Active IL Nursing License
- Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (must be submitted)
- Minimum 2 years ICU experience (3 years preferred)
- At least one prior travel assignment
- Strong neuro assessment, EKG/tele interpretation, sepsis protocol management, ventilator/airway experience
- Resilient, adaptable, excellent teamwork and social skills
- Preferred: tPa administration and massive transfusion (Belmont)
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-level ICU and stepdown care (ratios ICU: 2:1, stepdown: 3:1)
- Float between ICU/stepdown as needed
- Perform advanced assessments, initiate/titrate critical medications, collaborate on post-ROSC and hypothermia protocols
